William McElcheran's long standing passion was the integration of art with architecture seen as an integral whole and not just art as an afterthought to a prior architectural design. His beliefs were strengthened during his years spent working in Italy and seeing the seamless manner in which art is placed in architecture holistically through the design of its architectural elements.
