The estate of William McElcheran
Designs Created for Religious Architecture
After graduating from Ontario College of Art, McElcheran took a job as a designer and a woodcarver at Valley City Manufacture in Dundas, Ontario. Bruce Brown, a founder of Bruce Brown and Brisley Architects in Toronto, recognized Bill’s talent and invited him to work at his firm as their liturgical designer. There McElcheran deepened his belief of the role of sculpture and architectural details to unit within architecture and contribute to the larger vision. Nothing is separate and each element unites in beauty. Beauty is functional.
Below you will see the designs by William McElcheran during his time at BB & B Architects.
