The side of William McElcheran’s relief sculpture that faces the library, depicts the faces of many contemporary and ancient scholars and teachers. Some such as Einstein or Gandhi are easy to identify and others are more challenging. McElcheran included the great Marshall McLuhan, who taught at the University of Toronto and whom McElcheran knew.
